I'm the moderator here. I am always around and sometimes try to get dialogue going on special topics. Don't hestitate to send me a note directly if you have a question (just click on my profile link) or just post it here and I'll see if I can find the info you are looking for from our network of sites.

PS - some people just don't know its ok NOT to have something to say - quiet can be a really GOOD thing. just my 2 cents!

Hi AtypicalMS,
Welcome to Health Central. I hope that you will share what it means to be "atypical" as several others here, myself included, are relapsing-remitting. I've been reading a blogger's story of being diagnosis with atypical ms lately and that might be nice to learn more about.
"It could always be worse." - Yeah, it's that a comforting thought, sometimes yes, sometimes not so much. I think that phrase bothers me a little because it seems to discount the current experience of that person who doesn't have whatever it is that would be worse.
But I do understand the type of compassion which can grow from struggles. It makes me feel good to be able to provide a bit of compassion for someone else in pain when I've been there and know what they might be feeling. It then seems like my struggle was not in vain. And it's nice when someone can do that for me as well.
