Hi John,

I am so sorry to hear about your wife. Now that her MS has been termed advanced, you want to know what to expect in the future. "Advanced" is an intimidating adjective when linked with a disease.

Let me remind you, this is MS which is an unpredictable condition. That said, here is some of what you can expect. If your wife is generally healthy and has a positive attitude, she may be somewhat stable. This is especially true for older MSers.

Her current symptoms will probably not go away, and they will become progressively worse. The progression may be very slow so it is easy for both of you to adjust.

Look at the  National MS Society  has quite a bit of valuable information that might be helpful.

I hope this tells you what you want to know.  Good luck.

HI JOHN DANIEL HERE AND I HAVE BEEN IN AND OUT OF A CHAIR FOR TWO YEARS. I HAVE OTHER PROBS ALSO. IT IS TRUE THAT NO ONE CAN PREDICT WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN, only WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN. YOU MENTIONED AVONET PERHAPS YOU MEANT AVONEX. This Is in a class like rebif or beta-cearon It has flu like side effects. TYSABRI AND COPAXONE DO NOT;SO IF SHE CAN NOT HANDLE THIS CLASS THEN MAYBE THE SECOND CLASS WOULD BE BETTER. THIS IS WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF THIS IS WHAT YOU MEANT. She could have eye probs, even blindness. She can get totally weak all over her body, she can lose control of her tummy functions, she can slurr or stutter or forget convos. She can act like a small child as far as cognitive probs. She can laugh at bad times or cry at good times. This is the bad case scenario but this may not be her. Regardless I hope you both can love each other and I hope you have support so you can understand her more. GOD BLESS. bye for now
