Q: What can you tell me about Bee venom solution in treating Multiple Sclerosis?

Is there a study going on that people with MS can participate in; if they are interested? I cannot take the interferon medicine as the side effects are worse that the disease.  I would be interested in trying something homoeopathic, like bee venom, to see if that might help.

Hi cougarsladyusa,

Strange, isn't it, that something as dangerous as bee venom could actually help MS. This therapy called apitherapy has been around since ancient Egypt times, and it has gained popularity with MS in the last 15 or 20 years.

It is popular in Scotland where there is a high incidence of MS. When searching for a clinical trial, ClinicalTrials.gov is always a good place to start. Although there are two bee venom trials currently recruiting, neither is for MS.

Here is the list of trials for MS. Remember there are many people who would like to participate. Don't give up because you might be exactly who they are looking for.

Good luck, and let us know how your search is going.
