jerky movements.
My body jerks around without warning (like spastic). An arm or leg and sometimes even my torso or face. Does anyone else have that happen?
Hello
, Yes I have jumpy / jerky movements in my hands/fingers ,arms, legs & body.
I feel really embarassed when it happens in front of anyone. Sometimes my fingers jump and i double click on my keyboard or my hand jumps when playing my DS and the
pen/stylus flies from my hand, I use a DS to keep my brain active " well thats what i hope" How do you cope? with MS? Take Care Love Jan

Hi m2,
You don't mention how long this lasts, but it sounds like tonic or clonic spasms which are painful spasms that cause legs or arms to move unexpectedly or jerk, and usually last for only seconds. These spasms may also result in stiff or rigid muscles or limbs.
These spasms can be frightening, they are certainly surprising to both you and anyone around, and they can be treated. Because these movements come with no warning and do not usually continue long enough to go get medication, they are usually treated with prescriptions such as Baclofen or Zanaflex, vitamin D, or minerals calcium or magnesum taken on a regular basis. Talk with your doctor to see if ne of these is appropriate for you.
As Jan tells us, these jerks can interfere with basic keyboard work or even when we are playing games. I have always heard games are a good brain exercise, so I am playing, too.
Good luck, m2, and Jan, too.
