Q: Why do I feel like I'm having a flare up later in the evening and 1-2 days after excercising?

I feel extreme fatigue, my muscles spasms and pain are increased. It also effects mt bladder so I have to cath myself and my vision becomes blurred. I don't do a strenous

work-out at home it's light yoga and stretching at the gym some biking and swimming.

I need to excercise, but I'm confused as to why I feel this way.

I just found your post. I hope this finds you. I was doing a search about the common cold and MS because I have a cold and my MS symptoms are way worse....anyway...

Whenever I exercised I would feel like I had the flu and my MS fatigue would sideline me for a few days. I really wanted to exercise but I would feel so lousy. It was very frustrating. I asked my neuro about it and here is what she said:

When you exercise, your muscles get heated up. If you are like most people with MS, heat bothers you....a lot! She said that the muscles heating up is what was causing me to feel lousy. She said that I was not causing any harm to my body BUT it is hard to exercise regularly when you ended up feeling so yucky. Her recommendation was to exercise in small chunks. Do a few minutes here and there.

I exercise for 5-10 minutes every hour on the hour. I stop before I get heated up. That has helped a lot. I am still not happy that physical activity gets me so ill but I am learning to do it in smaller 'bite-sized' pieces.

Hope that helps.
