I have exacerbating remitting MS. These flares are usually taking place during a change of season ie. mine occur typically change of season Spring to Summer, and Fall to Winter. During these happenings I go to our local (small) hospital and am given Solu-Medrol-by IV for three days,on an outpatient basis.  This IV for three or four days is given over a period of 4 hours each day to avoid a severe headache. I'm generally good to go until the next "change of season.
