Q: If someone is prescribed Copaxone for their Multiple Sclerosis and doest take it for about 30 to 45 days straight; could that increase the chances of severe mood swings and aggresive behaviors?

My wife has been; over the 6 weeks leading up to july 7; increasingly having violent mood swings, and even throwing things at me. first trying to blame it on PMS and then not. She has been very verbally abusive; calling me worthless and a loser. She often told me that she hated me and that I was ugly and selfish. She is not working and I carry the financial load. She is a medical marijuana patient and it helped at first, but recently it seemed nothing would keep her from, what seemed like, holding me and everyone that loves her in contempt.

Hi Corey,

I have been on Copaxone for 15 years, and in my experience (and remember, it is MY experience and not everyones) I have never heard of such violent mood swings related to Copaxone.  I think you should speak to your wife's neurologist about these issues.  Perhaps he or she could help you and your wife resolve some issues.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.  Best of luck to you both.

Best in health,

Cathy

Often people will do "bad" things out of fear, most notably fear of a percieved "evil" in the future.  Thomas Aquinas wrote of this in his treatis "On Human Acts". Reading that help me understand the "bad" things I would often do. Knowledge allowed me to modify my behavior AND allowed me to recognise the warning signs of behavior changes that preceded the agression and take steps (decrease activity) to avoid that stage.

I suspect the future evil your wife percieves in the future is "how her condition will affect you and others close to her".
