Q: Hello, I have a question concerning a new MS symptom that started happening about a week ago.

Hello, I have a question concerning a new MS symptom that started happening about a week ago. I've been doing fine for a long time when suddenly, I started feeling a numbness on the lower left side of my face. There is also a tightening causing my lips to move towards the left side. Feels like a novacaine injection. It's been coming in waves. Has anyone else out there felt anything like this and if so, how long did it last and what did they do about it? Any vitamins i can take to help my face return to it's normal symmetry?

Hi Jentu,

It does sound as if Dan and Krazykat gave you good ad advice.

Although numbneness comes and goes in MS, what you describe is a little scary.. Just because we have MS doesn't mean we can't get something else as well. Of course, it could just be a funny MS symptom, too.

Let us know when you find out. Good luck.

If I were you I would go to the Dr.  Those are also similar symptoms to small strokes..for peace of mind I would go in.  Or maybe you need to get new or adjust your meds.

I agree that you should contact your dr. But I have that same symptom all the time. (PPMS). But you should still contact dr just in case. it makes talking a little difficult.

hi jentu my name is daniel and i started to have muscle tighteness on both sides of my jaw and got rushed to the emergency room because of severe pain. it turned out being T.M.J syndrome. something that can be relieved with the proper relaxers. consult a dr and find out in the mean time start doing facial excercises. move your lips, mouth and jaw muscles to try to loosen up your face. bye for now thelambsink@netzero.net
