Q: Is my eye muscle spasm related to my MS?

I have been having a muscle spasm underneath my right eye for the last 2 weeks, is this related to my MS?

Hi Sharel, Well, yes and no. As Becky said, there are many eye and vision problems associated with MS, including spasms and tremors. There are also instances of face pain that could include the area right below your eye as you were talking about. However, there are also several other conditions that could cause eye pain as you describe. I agree with Becky. Talk to your doctor about this one. If it's not MS this time, it could be something correctable. When we have MS, it is too easy to decide every new symptom is because of the MS. Your eyes are too important. Reply

My right eye lid has been 'twitching' for several weeks now.  My problem is that every time I go to the doctor they just blow me off & tell me EVERY THING is because of the MS and there's nothing they can do.  This includes having to go to the Chiropractor every week to have the same joints put back into place (ribs, T1, C7).  Anyone ever heard of that associated with MS?

Hello Sharel,

I am recently diagnosed and I too have spasms in my right eye.  Mine is like a muscle twitching and sometimes my vision jerks back and forth rapidly.  My left eye is another story completely.  It has extremely painful sensations, like someone is stabbing my eye with a dagger.  Sometimes I have black areas where there is no vision, and sometimes my vision is milky/foggy.

Lots of vision changes can be blamed on MS, so it's possible that's what's causing yours, but you should see your doctor just to be on the safe side.
