600 mg a day of Proviil
600 mg a day of Proviil
Hi Edward,
It seems that some patients develop a resistance to Provigil and it stops working for them. The makers of Provigil have another drug out called Nuvigil. It would be worth talking to your neurologist about this. Other medications which are sometimes used for MS fatigue include Amantadine and Ritalin. Definitely talk to your doctor.

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your response but Nuvil makes me really nasty and Amanatine is another word for Placebo . If I go over the recommended 600 mg per day of Provigil I can maintain an almost normal life style (since Fatigue is my most {so, far} my most foremost symptom. However if I don't I become like a zombie (neither awake or asleep) and I have found myself walking out into traffic without thought or reservation and the likes.
My drug plan will not allow more than 600 mg per day of Provigil. I can't keep taking an extra pill or two to stay alert because I will run out and then really be in a Pickle. Can you suggest a short term stimulant an amphetamine I can use until my resistance lowers so I can go back to Provigil and I can once again begin with 100 mg a day.
Thank you.
