Hiya,Diagnosed with Primary Progressive Ms since April last year.  Been on various anti-depressants since then and nothing is working.  I have went from sleeping 12-13 hours a night to not even sleeping for 4.I have been given Tamazepan to get me to sleep, starting them tonight?  Just can't cope with the mood things, feel as I am getting nowhere fast.Is anybody been given mood stabilising drugs along with the anti-depressants?

Hi Kel01,

So sorry you were diagnosed last April, and that your sleeping has gone from so long to so little. And then mood swings on top of that — or maybe because of that, or for the same reason you stopped sleeping.

The best way to handle mood swings is to start with the cause. PPMS might be enough! Some people take both an anti-depressant and a mood stabilizer, but that can be determined only by your neuro-psychiatrist.

I wish you luck with your mood swings, with your sleeping pattern, and of course with your primary MS. Let us know how it is going.

Effexor works for my wife. She has been taking it for over 1 year now.
