My neurologist said my MRI was clean so I didnt have MS but he was gona do an EMG to test the nerves in my legs but definitely ruled out MS. But the EMG could say I have MS? i dont want MS. Its just that I have so many symptoms & Im ready to be on the right medication cuz I have 2 small boys that need their mom to take care of them right and im not & im just getting impationt & want them to figure out wats wrong & get me fixed or at least on treatment and off the couch

Emg does not show if you have ms. I had brain , neck, and 2 spinal mris normal with a normal spinal tap and a normal exam and my neurologist said it does not rule out ms still possible . oh i even had evoked potentials, eeg test all normal. Going to the mayo clinic waiting on ins company. the way it seems nothing rules out ms. good luck!!

It's true that an EMG will not show MS. Folks with MS will have normal EMG results unless they have more than one thing going on. When I was experiencing pain, numbness, and loss of function in my hands, we did an EMG to test whether this was caused by something going on in my spine or if it was limited to my arms (wrists). It turned out to be carpal tunnel syndrome caused by RA.
My hope for you is that you don't have MS; but if you do, it is not the end of the world. My other hope for you is that your doctor is able to make an accurate diagnosis so that you can find some relief from your symptoms. Please let us know how it goes.
