How do you take care of a family when you're a single parent who has MS and can't work?

AKHLAW

I've tried working but can't hold a regular full-time position because of all of the MS symptoms and hospitalizations from MS relapses. I've applied for social security disability months ago but now the examiner is telling me that she made a recommendation regarding my claim and she is "waiting" for a doctor to sign the recommendation (after discussing such with the doctor). Has anyone had this "experience" when applying? If so, what should I expect?

I just don't know what to do and my income is going away quickly!! I'm in graduate school and an on-line program in order to complete both and eventually open my own business (with the type of flexibility I need because of the MS). I'm trapped with very few air bubbles and can't see a way out. PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks in advance,

Angela

Hello AKHLAW

I have MS.  I am an independent contractor for a Work at Home web based call center.  I only had to pay $30 for a background check to get started.  I think it went up to $50 now for the company I work for.  It allows me to be very flexable.  I work for LiveOps, but there are many other companies out there that recruit work at home employees.  Check out this website: http://www.ratracerebellion.com/CS_Comparison.html

I hope the link works, I also posted for Shelly for her question about what to do until she is able to get disability.
