Hi childers71,
When the spasticity first got really bad in my legs, it made them feel as though they were knotted up (and they kinda were). I couldn't straighten my knees which made walking very difficult. Fortunately, a round of steroids helped to immediately relieve the symptom and I started taking baclofen to ease the spasticity. It worked for me. Talk to your neurologist and see if there are some solutions to getting your legs in good working order.
Mine hit in the ankles and calves and the instep and was excruciating! The neuro prescribed Baclofen, which helped the first two nights, then the 3rd night the spasticity was worse than ever!
I then spent several weeks doing experiments and concluded that Baclofen CAUSES me to have even worse spasticity.
I researched in my various naturopathic tomes, and learned that potassium and magnesium are critical to proper muscle and nerve function, so I began taking a potassium supplement. N O MORE spasticity! I later added magnesium which is also something many MSers are deficient in, and that made me feel even better, helped me to sleep, AND solved the bowel/constipation issues!
