burning sensation on tip of tongue while sleeping
Patient awakes from sleep with burning of the tongue, only last few seconds, but is intense, and just the tip of the tongue or a streak of burning. Can not get diagnosis. Has also been dizzy upon standing.

Then you can confer with your doctor and hope you can get a diagnosis - what you describe sounds really painful and it must be quite frustrating not to have an answer from your doctor on what it is.
I believe some patients have experienced changes in the sense of taste; maybe yours is manifiesting itself a bit differently.
