Hi all hope you're all "well", I have had a very hard time getting diagnosed. And am have been told by my neurologist that basically I was mad. One can assure you all I'm not. I recently had EVP and Electro retina gram ERG. Anyhow my eye specialist phoned me and told me on my EVP there was a difference between both eyes on small patterns.  But my ERG was totally abnormal and was the worse she has ever seen (no to low signal), I have 20/20 vision but have stars and lines appear wavy. Also night vision is getting bad. I have a retest this Monday. If this is abnormal with all my various symptoms would this be enough for diagnoses. My MRI of brain was clear.

My second question is, when I get up in the morning I find walking really hard like my legs are still asleep. The stairs are a real pain, has anyone noticed this in the morning it's especially bad. Numbness ect. Hands and legs.  Have bought a stick today as I heard there good when out walking and your legs start to die.

(muscle twitches,tremour, conigtive differcultys)

Any input would be appreciated,

35 year old male

First of all Hi, and sorry that you are having to join our ranks, but welcome:)  What I am about to say is going to make me very unpopular.  MS is running rampid.  Doctors in my opinion doctors do not want to give us this D so readly becasue if they do, it seems like we are flooding the disability system.  We are!  Something is wrong.  It is sad to say I had never heard of MS until it affect me, now shame on me!  But now I now know so many people who's lives that have been touched by this diease, and it is frightening.  There are so many of us waiting for disbility, many of us have worked for years, so we are not asking for anything that is not rightfully ours.  I know that I am all off topic, and for that I am sorry.  But I feel that is why the Nueros are draging their feet on DX what they know to be MS.  It is not that they do not know, it is the system that they have to work within.  OK I am finished now.  sherry/smomdukes

Thanks for your advice, and i agree it seems my neuro wants to make as much money out of me. I have to say this whole practise of telling people there mad before half the tests are back is shocking. I have worked in a very proffessional career 10 years of which was spent in a trauma theatre, no one asked me that nor of mental abiltys. Before this monster desroyed my memory, and nearly my sanity. Which i have to say before the results of my EVP, even i had questioned.

Anyhow thanks for the reply, and count me as a friend.

Sherry..I think that either doctirs DON"T know what to do about MS or they KNOw but every effective treatment i.e., LDN or the newer Liberation Treatment are not approved by the powers that be Reply

Hi, I have found that diagnosing MS is the same as it was 30 years ago, process of elimination. And though in 1981I had eye testing, shock testing, a brainscan and went to Standford Medical Center in California, noted for their research on MS and I had a spinal fluid tap there was finally diagnosed with MS.  I had double vision, balance problems( sometimes couldn't stand up), and I felt like bees were buzzing around in my head. As suddenly as it came it left one day in 1982.  Until April of 2008 I had no symptoms other than some dizziness if I stayed in sun too long.  April 21st, 2008 I awoke with both hands numb and major pain in my neck.  Two MRI's showed inactive brain lesions and some inactive lesions on my spine.  My Neurologist does not answer my questions she only asks questions.  I noticed when I went to Orthopedic doctor he said "I can't help you, didn't your Neurologist tell you you have MS?"  No she didn't tell me I had MS she said I had L'Hermitte's Phenomenon.  That is electical shocks going down neck, which is I guess associated with MS.

Hello...while you're going through all that maybe you can make sure you take the recmmended vitamins: vit D, omega 3, vita b drink lots of water. I'm sure there are others. You might consider modifying your diet, ie, no red meat, limited animal fat, no diary. Wait for the dx; don't jump to premature conclusions. I wishing you well. Reply
