    Nancy,

I recently went to a podiatrist for a foot problem unrelated to MS.  Since I wear only flats and sneakers, he told me he preferred sneakers manufactured by New Balance.  He was right!  I found the most comfortable sneakers I ever had so I purchased 3 pairs!  They are rounded by the toe (instead of a pointy shoe) and I love them.

My only advice is to make sure you get your feet measured by a professional.  Either a podiatrist (like I did - and my insurance paid for the visit) or a reputable shoe store that you can visit.  I do like Aerosoles, Easy Spirit and Naturalizer as their shoes have a little "give" to it and the toe area (there is a name for that but I can't think of it right now) is either squared or rounded.

    Hope this helps!

    Best in health,

    Cathy

Hi, I got a pair of round toe shoes from LL Bean that are nearly perfect for my painful MS feet. Check them out. Love to all, Katkan

Thanks, Cathy, for reminding us that shoes are better when found in person rather than by catalog. I sometimes forget because I do so much online shopping. This is probably why I go bare footed most of the time.

    Hi Nancy,

Shoes are really hard to find because they are often constricting or even heavy. It is hard enough to pick up you feet, and it is even harder when shoes are added.

I ordered some from Foot Smart several years ago. They were easy to put on because of the velcro. They looked awfully big, but they were not too heavy. I did think they were more expensive than they should have been.

One problem is I could not find other options. Foot Smart has many styles and I cannot offer any other catalogs that specialize in shoes for us. I am usually barefoot at home, but it is hard to go out without shoes.

Let us know what you find. Good luck.
