Q: How long should a person use an oral agent for bowels

I have a lesion at c2-c4 still do not know if this is MS or something else. Apparently it is a demylinating disease or some sort

Char, I'm not clear what your question is. "...oral agent..." you mean for constipation or stool softener? If so, my MD told me I could use Metamucil forever, Katherine Hepburn used psyillum husk every morning for most of her adult life and swore by. I stopped the Metamucil after 6 months and just drank 48oz water/day and oatmeal with banana every day (along with 2 regular meals) and that keeps me regular.Laughing

(as for a stool softener-check w/DR. and I would try and figure out why your body needs it)
