Q: Has anyone asked for "reasonable accomodations" at work? If so, how were your requests met??

I am currently in the process of asking for a limited schedule to accomodate my chronic fatigue, associated with MS. Has anyone else asked for a limited schedule or adjustment to job description?

Hi LMH,

It has been awhile, but yes, I asked for accommodations. The toughest thing I requested was to actually work from home. We had computer, fax (it was a long time ago), and speaker phone. I could go in for a meeting if needed. I also did not go in during traffic times.

It worked great, but I know of some jobs where it would not have worked. It seems to me that telecommuting would be beneficial in many cases.

I also had a friend who had vision problems and asked for accommodations to his computer.

Know what you want when you ask if you can. It sounds as if you already have an idea. Good luck! Let us know.
