Q: I have MS and I have started to clean homes just so I can get some exercise.

I was becoming very immobile and having trouble walking and I thought this would make me more flexible. I cannot afford physical therapy.  Also, at this time I do not take any medication. So this way I get exercise plus make a little income which I need.  I only do 1 or 2 homes a week.  I find I am very stiff, exhausted, fatigued and at times in pain when finished.  I was wondering if eventually I will build strength and stamina if I continue or will my MS just get worse.

Hi Ann, I am no doctor, but as for me it just continues as MS.  I have no balance, and I get fatiqued after trying to clean my home.  Mine started out likfe yours, I thought that if I excerised it would get better, it did not. The ecerise is grat for you never the less, my doctor told me to do a little more, it woud not hurt.  MS is so different in everyone, so it is very hard to say, how it will affect you.  Continue to do what you do as long as it is comfortable for you, that is what I say and that is what my doc told me.  Do not over do it, things will be worse for you.  Talk with you doc.  Friday I found out frorm my doc there are propgrams that will help, but you have to ask.  I hope this helps!
