Q: Optic neuritis again or MS symptom

Hi I recently found out I had optic neuritis of my right eye and went for a MRI 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. The impression from the MRI was MS with optic neuritis. For the last couple of days I have noticed the my left eye is starting to have symptoms that my right eye orginally started with: pain when looking certain directions, and tenderness when touched. Yesterday I went and saw a different eye doc (mine was out) and he told me I have allergies...but I just don't understand how allergies could be causing eye pain (pain is like a tugging at the back of my eye). Fyi my eye is not red, itchy, watery, and I have not been sneezing. I'm afraid my other eye might be developing optic neuritis as well although no vision changes have been apparent although my right eye still has decreased/foggy vision. I'm curious if anyone thinks it could be optic neuritis or just a sympton of MS? P.S.-I have an appt. with a neurologist next Tues wish me luck and thanks!

Hi, Optic Neuritis is painful I know first hand having had this in both eyes last year and lost my 20/20 vision, and now having to wear glasses all the time. When I mension I am still having pain in my left eye especially, I am told that can not be. As symptoms only stick around for a short few weeks, I have a Pacemaker so MRI's are out for me. But eye exams proved I had this in both eyes, my advice is if you have the pain and symptoms keep going back until someone hears you. You know what that pain feels like and you know how it affects your vision, if your scared like I am still that vision could still be lost further I would shout about your sysmtoms. Well good luck I am here if you want to talk more.
