Hi Susie,

I understand your frustration after having several normal MRIs over time and even evoked potentials tests, then still experiencing MS-like symptoms. The MRI is helpful, but it is not always the final word, yes or no.

Stress can wreak havoc with your body and mind with and without MS.  There are so many things with symptoms similar to MS that it becomes frustrating for both patient and doctor.  The thing is, the patient has to live with it.

You say the doctors are pushing you away.  Perhaps you should find a neurologist with an MS specialty. Take your carefully documented time line — symptom and date with test and date — and try for another opinion.  It sounds like continuing your frustration, but it could be a new beginning.  You need a doctor who responds to your stress rather than adds to it.

Try to relax, as hard as that sounds, and find a doctor you are comfortable seeing.  Realize it does take time to diagnose or eliminate MS, but you need support while you are going through it.  Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
