Jason,   Welcome to MS Health Central.  MS is not considered a fatal disease.  The very rare and unusual exception is the Marburg variation of MS (also called fulminant multiple sclerosis) which is extremely aggressive and can cause death.  Marburg is sometimes consider a disease separate from MS.   Having secondary progressive MS is not terminal.  However persons who have lived with MS for a long time, and who have accumulated significant disability and dysfunction, may experience complications of MS which contribute to mortality eventually.  This too is quite rare.   Does this help to answer your concern?
