Hi Leanne,

Leukemia is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow.  Multiple sclerosis is a demylinating disease of the central nervous system.  They are not related.

Hi Leanne,

As Lisa explained, MS an Leuemia are not directly related.  However, there is a relationship of sorts.  Some MSers take Novatrone, and with Novatrone, there seems to be a risk of developing Leukemia. The relationship is not between the diseases, but between each disease and Novatrone.

Okay.  Let me try that again.  The relationship between MS and leukemia is that people with both diseases take the same drug, Novantrane.  High doses have a risk of heart problems.  It can also cause bone marrow problems.

The relationship is that both disease respond to the same drug.  There are side effects.  Be sure to talk to your doctor.
