I there any financial help for assisted living when the annual income is over $30k? Thankyou!

My husband and I have been doing what we can for his mother since we were only dating just 4 1/2 years ago.  With her progression she is unwilling to see herself getting worse and she fell 4 times in one month, has been in and out of the hospital since November '07, has two dogs, and it is a worsening situation all around.    Even though she gets temporary visits from PT's and OT's - I'm scared of when it runs out and I don't want her to make it a last resort.  She makes a little more than what assisted living grants will allow her to make since she receives SSI and Allimony.  With prescripton costs and everything else it has become a little too much to handle--is there any financial help out there? Or even emotional to help her cope with the idea that she can not live on her own?
