day bye day
I stop working and i am on disability, its been about 4 weeks now and i am feeling so much better. I have one class left and then i can go into my program at collage. My ? is, should i continue? the program is about 30 hr a week with intence studying. I am afraid to get sick again and have to drop out. Should i go for my dream and hope my health stays good or should i come to some sence and admit i have to give up, worry about my health and take care of my family? I am sure alot of you have been there, please give me your opinon! thanks kimmba
Let me tell you from experience. Go for it any worry about sickness when it happens. It may not even happen. It ent to college at night at worked, had MS and did not even know it for a while, and when I found out, I still went to school, finished all but one all Math 131, the reason I did not do the math it is because I have a thingie with math
, but I am 50 years old. My working days are just bout finished. If I had all of my goods about be I would be a source to e reckoned with. Go to school, and cross the sick bridge should it be let down. Who knows it may never be let down. Go when you do not feel like going, it is good for the body and soul you will feel good, I promise, I did. You will feel fine! sherry/smomdukes

kimbba, please don't worry about tomorrow until it gets here. you might just work up a self-fulfilling prophesy. go to school. don't just give in to the ms. you'll get older and kick yourself in the butt if you don't.i wish i had gone to school so i would have had something to fall back on that i could do besides drive a truck. that is totally out of the question now and so is school. don't worry about getting sick until it happens. i have had a lot of relatively symptom free years and a few with symptoms in the last few years but then i've had ms for 36 years. lately i take inventory to see what is going to work before i get out of bed but i do get out of bed and just get on with my day. you may have days that you walk funny or your hands don't work well but it shouldn't interfere with your studies.try to arrangfe your schedule so you have time to rest if you need to is the only suggestion i can make-good luck

Hi kimbba,
It sounds to me as if you want to make an effort to continue school. I say go for it.
If it begins to be too much, ask if you can drop a class or reduce your schedule. I have found going to school is stimulating, and since this is your dream, it will probably make you feel better. Your children will probably be excited for you.
If you have another exacerbation and cannot continue, at least you'll know you tried. There can be nothing wrong with that.
Good luck to you.
