Hi Laney,
My first thought is that a rheumatologist might be the doctor you want to see. Even if your Rheumatoid Factor (RF) levels in your blood are low or normal, it is still possible to have rheumatoid arthritis. That one blood test is "normal" in a large section of the RA population. I am one of those RA patients who tends to have very low inflammatory markers.
I'm not sure that a neurologist is the right doctor to see for this. Do you have any oher symptoms which might seem to be neurological in nature?

I have a pinched nerve in my neck that was causing neck pain and numbness down my arms, not the same numbnes you get from carpal. This has gone away. I have pain in both my biceps when I sleep and first wake up, feels like the muscle is twisted. Cannot lift my arms for awhile upon waking. The pain wakes me up at night every time I try to lift my arm. The ortho says it is all related to the pinch nerve, the arms feel like muscle issues to me and the hands like bone issues. Thank you for your input.
