Hi,
Welcome to MS Healthcentral. I don't know much at all about the RhoGam shot other than I know that my mother needed to have it when she gave birth to myself and my brother many years ago.
What I do know is that studies have shown that the risk of MS relapses is increased after giving birth. I know a number of people who were diagnosed with MS sometime in the year after having a child. Some people even report that their MS symptoms greatly improved during pregnancy and got temporarily worse after giving birth.
You can ask your neurologist about how pregnancy affects MS, either making it more or less active, or contributing to an exacerbation which leads to a diagnosis.
So how are you doing now with a new baby and new diagnosis?
Lisa
Karin,
I'm so very sorry to hear that you had a miscarriage!! I would suspect that the pregnancy itself had more to do with MS developing or emerging enough for diagnosis. But, certainly it seems that the RhoGam shot affects the immune system and the immune system is involved in MS. Basically, I don't know.
I hope you are doing well. Please take care of yourself.
Lisa

Thank you for answering & asking. New diagnosis for MS, not a baby though. I had a miscarage. Just was woundering last night if the RhoGam shot contributed to my having MS. Karin
