Hey Kathy!

I have never used Betaseron myself so I have no personal experience with this but in researching your question it seems others have had this experience.  Is it a bitter metallic taste?  I have also read that the Solu Medrol drip can cause this bad taste.  Have you gone in for the drip recently?

Here is some information about Betaseron which can be found on Health Central.  I would definitely also ask your doctor about this.  Perhaps he or she can tell you whether or not this taste will go away in time.

In the meantime, I found some good information about what to do if you have such a bad taste in your mouth.

How do you get rid of the bad taste?

The US Department of Veteran's Affairs, of all things, recommends the following:  Drinking tart drinks like lemonade or cranberry juice,  adding pickles or relish to your foods, marinating meat in vinegar or soy sauce, eating cold foods to numb your taste buds, chewing gum or sucking on lozenges, eating dark chocolate, and using plastic silverware.  You can find more tips from the link I gave you above.

I hope your taste buds return soon!  And thank you for your question.

Kathy,

I'm just checking in to see if your taste has returned to normal.  I hope so since having things taste bad every other day sounds extremely unpleasant.  Tongue out
