Something I have always wondered about.  Is there a better place with a better climate to live other than the US for a person with MS.  I have always wondered, what is the best climate for a person with MS, rainy, dry?  I know that A hot climate is no good, when I was visiting Hawaii, it was pretty good, but where is the best place for a person with MS to live, I am courious?  sherry/smomdukesKiss

I live in the US and currently live in the South.  The summers are terribly hot and humid and bad for my MS.  However, for seven years, I lived in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle specifically.  It was perfect for my MS.  The winters are mild, it rarely gets to freezing and the summers are glorius, the high is usually 75 and the low is 50.  I loved it.  However, one must also deal with short days in the winter and rainy dreary weather.  Summers are very long days, low humidity, PERFECT!

Thank you so very much.  I know that there is no perfect place.  I also live in the South and you are right the Summers can be so hot, right now we are dealing with 90 degrees, and it is murder, before MS that was all right (black girl tanning).  The Winters in the South can sometimes be just as harsh it can get well below freezing.  So I am just looking for a happy medium.  Thank you so much for respondingSmile  sherry/smomdukesKiss

It seems kind of strange that the areas where MS is more prevalent are the areas where it is more comfortable to live with MS. People in the Northern US, Canada, and Northern Europe are more prone to it, but people in the southern, warmer, areas suffer more.

KJ Thank you also for responding to my question.  Let me give some examples.  What if I wanted to live in Hawaii, or Brazial, or London, or Austrialia, (no too many spiders cannot run fast enough).  Just some examples.  What do you guys think any suggestions f countries?

That's a tough question. I grew up in Northern California and think that this is about the perfect climate for just about everything. The Pacific Northwest would be runner-up. It rains a lot, but I don't mind that too much.

Overseas, I might go with Northern or Central Europe. I liked living in Germany. My sister lives in England and loves it there too.

Thank you you so much for your help guys.  I was just courious.  I did not know if maybe the climates varied differently enough to justify consider making a move or not, now I am not so sure.  I knopw that as long as my parent are living I will continue to burn up in the South, but after that who knows.  But I appericate all of your input, it has helped me so much.  Thank you!  sherry/smomdukesKiss

Thank you so much for your input.  I am just trying to get an idea about different areas to live with MS.  Some are too hot some are too cold, I know that there is no perfect place, but I know that there are some places around the world that are better than others.  Again I really do appericate all input, please keep it coming.
