Q: Alternative therapy?

Hi everyone, I'm going to go out on a limb today and ask a most controversol question....has anyone tried or researched alternative therapies for their MS?  Like applied kineseology, accupuncture, homeopathics, there are so many, too many to name here but on those lines anyway.   I've been looking into them and want to give them a try, and I'm curious if anyone here has tried any of them.  I know it goes against the normal traditional doctors advice but I'd really like to hear from anyone who has tried them or is actively doing them now.  Thanks I appreciate any and all feedback!Smile

I have tried Ayurvedic massage in Kerala, India. Indeed, they claim they can cure MS with their massages and herbal drugs. Though I very much doubt this, the massage therapy id definitely good togive relaxation to muscles, at least, in short term. Some homoepaths too claim to have cured MS. But, I don't have any authentic information.

Although I have not tried alternative medicine, I am with you. The only things I am getting help with is chiropractic, and herbal Valerian Root for leg spasms. I believe both of these help me. I am tired of doctors trying to pump me with drugs. In fact, the last neurologist said that due to my age, the drug therapy has more  drawbacks than help. This may have been a blessing.  The only drug I take is Tramadol for the back and body pain. The doctor syas I have slightly elevated cholesterol levels, so he put me on meds. He also found I had slight anemia, but that can be controlled by adding iron to my vitamin regimen. I am not big on taking meds, I would rather go as natural as possible.  Please keep us posted with whatever you find.  Blessings to you.

I currently go to a chiropractor too and find it helps also. Someone gave me the book on "The One-Minute Cure" The Secret to Healing Virtually All Diseases by Madison Cavanaugh.  It's about an H202 therapy, to help with just about any disease. I read it, but am a little skeptical about taking it. If you do a web search on it, information comes up on it. Very interesting Undecided. I'm also tired of every doctor you go to shoving medicine down your throat, it seems there's a pill for just about everything...problem is they don't CURE a thing!!  All they do is mask the symptoms and hopefully make you feel better, while unbeknown to all it's actually damaging another part of your body! I could go on and on about this subject, but I'll leave it at that. I'm still investigating others and will let you know my findings. Peace to you!!

I, too, looked into the H2O2 therapy. It is indeed very interesting, wouldn't it be terrific if it would actually help.  By what I read, it does seem it couldn't hurt. I would really be interested in seeing the dosage scale. I think I would like to try it too.

I will try to find out more, I will keep you posted. If possible, can you do the same? Best of luck, and blessings to you.

I do have the dosage scale and met a person first hand who is taking it now.  His problem was arthritis and numb feet.  After taking it for a few weeks he could feel his feet again and his arthritis is better.  I'll copy and paste the dosage here if you'd like.  He swears by it.  I'll get back to you.

That's great! I would love to have it!

Is it the 35% food grade H2O2? And where does he get it? Are you trying yet?  It does seem like it couldn't hurt to tryUndecided.  Can't wait to hear from you. Blessings to you.

I just read that the doctor put you on cholestrol lowering drug and wanted to tell you that I just came off Lipitor because of the muscle pain it caused in my legs - also headaches.  At first I thought my MS was getting worse, but turns out statins like Lipitor can cause terrible side effects.

I'd be interested if anyone knows of alternative medicine for lowering cholesterol.

I've heard that cooking in cast iron can add iron to your diet.

Good luck with your meds.

Thank you for your comment regarding statins. I feel badly for your discomfort.  Have you found anything that might help you?   I also have headaches, which the doctor told me may be due to anemia. I have added iron to my vitamin regimen, and so far that has helped.

With regard to cholesterol lowering drugs I have done some research on finding an alternative. I did come up with red yeast rice. It may not work for everyone, and there are some side effects. I also found another page when I looked for cholesterol lowering herbs and found other interesting herbal possibilities. I just need to do more due diligence to see what might work best. With luck we can give each other ideas to see what might help. Good luck and blessings to you.

From what I've read the muscle aches and headaches will go away after the body rids itself of the statin drugs (in my case the Lipitor)... I don't know how long that will take.  I also heard about red yeast rice, but it too is considered a statin so I don't know.  It just seems like sometimes the side effects of some of the drugs are worse than the condition!

Thanks for the help, like you said we'll just have to keep looking.

Yes they did prescribe something for me, however I haven't taken it yet, and I probably won't.  I'm sorry it made you feel worse, that's the problem with some of the medicines.  They fix one problem yet create another.  I'm searching alternative therapies now and will keep you posted.  Try reading up on H202 therapy, it's reported by some to be a good cure for quite a few illnesses.

Thanks for your comments, will keep you posted.
