Hi Cindy,
Thanks for the question.
That's kind of a wide open question and, unfortunately, I am not a medical person. However, as a patient I know that when I go into remission some of my new symptoms go into remission, such as my numbness and tingling. Talk to your doctor about your concern. Are you taking steroids for an exacerbation? How long have you had the spasticity? Have you have an MRI since the spasticity episode? These are questions you should ask your doctor.
Good luck and please keep us posted on how you are doing.
Best,
Cathy
Hi Cindy,
Welcome to HealthCentral. MS is so individual that what my experience has been may not resemble your experience. For me, after an exacerbation which was treated with steroids, the bulk of my new or worsened symptoms will abate. Maybe not entirely, but to some extent. In between exacerbations (ie. during remission), I do still experience MS symptoms. One of those symptoms has been spasticity for which I take baclofen (on an adjustable dosage as needed, per my doctor's advice).
Definitely ask your neurologist the questions you have asked here. Your doctor and you know your situation the best. I hope that the spasticity lessens up for you a bit.
Good luck,
Lisa
