New MS drug fails mid-stage trial

Drugmaker BioMS has reported that its new multiple sclerosis (MS) drug has failed to prevent symptoms of the disease from returning in a mid-stage clinical trial. In the study, patients with relapsing-remitting MS who took the medication were just as likely to have symptoms return after 15 months as patients who did not take it. But company officials say the drug did show signs of slowing down the progression of the disease. Read more »
