Protein found in spinal fluid linked to MS

Scientists have found that a protein that helps quiet immune cells is more abundant in the spinal fluid of people with multiple sclerosis (MS) than in people who don't have the disease. The extra protein, TREM-2, has long been suspected to be tied to MS, though it had previously only been seen on the surface of immune cells. Researchers say their discovery may help give scientists new drug therapies to prevent and treat MS.  Read full story >
