Experimental MS drug may reduce relapses

Drugmaker Opexa says their experimental drug Tovaxin helped 83 percent of patients with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis remain relapse free after a year. The study of 150 patients found that the relapse rate among those who took the drug fell to 20 percent, which was 42 percent lower than those who took a placebo. The drugmaker says they plan to recruit more patients for another Phase II study on the medication.
