Marijuana-Based Multiple Sclerosis Drug Goes on Sale in the UK

A new cannabis-based drug called Sativex has gone on sale in the United Kingdom as a treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS). Sativex is approved to treat spasticity in MS patients who are not benefiting from other medications. The new med is made from marijuana plants grown at a secret location by drugmaker GW Pharmaceuticals PLC, and it is the first cannabis-based drug to officially go on sale anywhere in the world.
