Multiple Sclerosis Patients Demand Access to Unproven Treatment

Italian vascular surgeon Dr. Paolo Zamboni has developed an unorthodox treatment for multiple sclerosis that involves opening veins in the neck and chest with the same kind of balloons used to open blocked heart arteries. This procedure, which he calls the "liberation procedure," is controversial and unapproved, but that hasn't stopped scores of MS patients from gathering every bit of information on it in the hopes it might treat or even cure their condition.
