In my previous sharepost within this series, I asked readers to stay tuned for me to reveal my results from total body contouring plastic surgery following massive weight loss. To recap, I had gastric bypass surgery in 2003 and lost about 100 pounds. Fast forward to 2013, I underwent body contouring plastic surgery to remove the excess hanging skin from my body.

At that writing, I wondered if I would be happy with my results and the $25,000.00 I had spent on body contouring.

    My surgeries included:

Stage 1: Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and monsplasty, April 2013

Stage 2: Convert tummy tuck to body lift, medial thigh lift with monsplasty, extended arm lift, and breast lift, October 2013

Stage 3 (planned for Spring 2014): Breast implants and skin removal/revisions

I also had a face lift in December of 2013.

Going into my plastic surgery, I had regained 13 of the 100 pounds I had lost from my gastric bypass. As of today, I am 5-mos post stage 2 body contouring and have lost 40 pounds and 50 inches and 6 jeans sizes. Plastic surgery is not a weight loss surgery, per se. I cleaned up my eating after surgery to lose weight. Plus, 13 pounds of excess skin was removed through the surgeries.

Next week I fly to New Jersey to consult with my plastic surgeon on my final body contouring surgery. It will be the first time he will see my results in person. When I did my 4-mos consult with him over the phone and with emailed photos, he remarked that I looked fantastic, incredible, and that there weren’t enough adjectives to describe it.

Do I like my results? Yes. I love my body. Never would I have believed my surgeon if he had told me last April that he could get me to a size 2. I did not even believe him when he said I’d be able to wear a bikini. I am super excited to complete my transformation.
