Is There A Magic Pill for Weight Loss?

I have gained 50 lbs. in the last 8 years on a medication treating my bipolar disorder. I now have developed metabolic syndrome & am on meds for blood pressure & cholesterol. I'm getting off the offending medication & trying another one for mood stabilizing. If I lose weight, can I reverse the condition?
