Please re-post your full article. I am very interested in reading what you have to say about under-active thyroids + weight gain. I've tried clicking on every link to access your full article but have had no luck!

ok I am 45 years old. Have been battling with weight gain for over a year. have gained about 12 pounds. I have been to 3 endo's  and my primary. One time my CK level came out as 2000. My primary sent me to the ER to have it retested. It was about 400. I have seen a nutionist . I exercise between 5-8 hours a week and can't loose a pound. My legs are hurting me and I have edema. My endo is testing my hormone levels. I am on synthroid and have had hypothyroid for 20 years. My levels always come out within level...Any suggestions?

I also have dealt with Hypothyroidism for over 20 years. I am 52 and this past summer had a problems with both feet and ankles swelling to the point of my ankle bones disappearing. I had my thyroid rechecked and my doctor ended up doubling my dosage of Levothroxin. I had been on this dose for several months now and my blood test levels show in the normal range. I am still having problems with my weight (even though I exercise and watch what I eat) as well as daily swelling on my ankles (they are not as swollen as this past summer) and the swelling never seems to completely go away. Of course by the end of the day my shoes are tight and swelling is quite pronounced. Any Idea? Side note: My family has a strong history of Heart Disease, losing my father at age 6 and my brother at age 54.
