My Pet Helps Me Keep Active

By FatandSad Wednesday, February 25, 2009

I have a cat that is spoiled, and I let her be that way so that I get up and open doors for her to exit, although she has her own little door. I often walk outside with her, and play with her. The point is that she helps me stay active because I care about her, and I realize that by pampering her, I'm helping myself.  I have Chronic Fatigue, and since my husband's terminal cancer was diagnosed, I have gained 45 pounds and can't seem to stop gaining. Pets are great for getting you up and moving, for like children, they need a lot of help, love and attention. FatandSad

Thank goodness for your cat!  I am so sorry about your husband's illness.  I strongly believe that our pets are invaluable companions; always loving, never judging.  But we also need people in our lives who can help us bear our burdens.  I sincerely hope you have visited your dr. and spoke openly about your medical conditions, your husband's illness, and your overwhelming sadness.  Reach out to friends and/or family.  You shouldn't go through all of these things without some strong, strong people to lean on.  I hope you read this post.  I hope to one day see you listed as maybe still fat, but hanging in there.
