I understand that he must be embarrassed by his obesity and by all the public comments about it. That said, Christie is in a leadership role and should have responded as the strong leader that he is, and set a positive example for weight loss. Sadly, it was a missed opportunity for the governor.

 

Instead of spitting in the face of good health and common sense with appeareances on Letterman that make light of super morbid obesity, it could have been very powerful if Christie had a frank discussion about America's obesity epidemic. He is a man that people listen to. I hope that he uses his words in the future to inspired people to lose weight rather than giving a furtive endorsement that one can eat crap, and be fat and healthy.

 

Imagine what good might come if Christie were to lead the war on obesity...
