Medications

At a Glance

A number of medications exist that are used for weight loss purposes.  These drugs are prescribed by a doctor only when appropriate, and they should be used after non-drug options have been exhausted.  Drugs can assist with weight loss by blocking the absorption of some fats, balancing brain chemicals to increase metabolism or suppressing appetite in patients.
