Hi Deelirious,
You've asked a question which is close to my own thoughts. My mobility is impaired a bit, but I'm not in a chair. Since I have MS, I can't walk too far or my legs want to give out on me which can be a problem when trying to exercise.
I went to physical therapy last year and one of the things we did was use a recumbant exercise bike. During to my fatigue level, I started at cycling for just 2 minutes at a time. Part of the challenge was learning where my limitations were and to stretch those.
I am new writing here, but will need to see if I can find some really great resources for exercise-related material for folks like us with mobility limitations. I'll let you know (or what a sharepost) about what I find.
There is so much which can be done while seated - yoga, pedaling, even weights - which can help to get a body in better physical condition. But, please, always ask your doctor or physical therapist for personalized advise.
I have used very good videos for those with a physical impairment, as well as other exercise videos, from www.collagevideo.com. Note, that's "collage" not "college." Check out their web site, and I hope you find exactly what will work for you.
Blessings,
Mary
I am glad you asked this question. In the next few weeks I will be releasing a series of shared posts focused on Obesity and Excercise. So make sure you continue to visit this site.
In the meantime I will direct you to a portion of my website titled Perfect Excercise. I my site I go over many basic exercises in detail so that you can see how to do them in a way that is as safe as possible.
When you visit this site the first video you will see is focused on core activation. This is critical. Core Activation has to become a priority part of your movements and posture. The link to the exercises is below:

I hope this helps!

Hi.
As I replied to the original post person, there is a great resource site for exercise videos, including those for the physically impaired. It's www.collagevideo.com. Note that it's "collage" not "college." Check it out, to see if you can find something that works for you. Good luck.
