Your doctor would have to somehow convince your insurance company that this is "Lifesaving surgery" which most insurance companies will not go along with - so even if you had insurance - it would be a battle in most cases.

Your only possibility is to take out a loan or finance the surgery which some surgeons will accept.  Understand that unless she gets enormous psychological support before and after surgery and longterm followup - the success rate is not great.

I am sure that if you all have a primary care physician, he/she can answer any questions you all may have.  I think she needs discipline. I am 27 years old and I  was over 400.  I went on this 3-day heart diet and lost 62 lbs. in 3-4 months.

Hi.

I would encourage you (or your daughter, depending on her age) to visit www.carecredit.com. You may be able to finance her surgery there. You can take up to 7 years (maybe longer, I don't quite recall), for smaller payments. You can also pay within 18 months, for zero percent interest. Those with less-than-perfect credit have been able to obtain financing. I believe your surgeon has to have "signed on" with them, so if he/she isn't on their list, that can be done. Good luck. I'm a firm believer in the saying, "Where there's a will, there's a way."

Blessings,

Mary
