Congratulations on wanting to lose weight safely. I've been doing that over the course of this year and so far have lost 40 pounds. There is so much more to health than weight and more formulas than BMI to measure where you're at.
In my early posts, I include links to lots of sources regarding healthy weight and weight loss. You might want to read through some of those and look at the references (linked within the posts).
