Study: High triglycerides boost stroke risk

People who have high levels of fats called triglycerides in their blood may have an increased risk of stroke, according to a new study. Doctors looked at more than 1,000 people treated for ischemic stroke and found that those with the highest levels of triglycerides were more than twice as likely to suffer such a stroke. Researchers say these findings suggest that reducing triglycerides may be even more important than reducing bad cholesterol for lowering people's cardiovascular risk. Read more »
