Bariatric surgery may cure liver disease

A condition known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is very common among obese people, but a new study suggests that weight-loss surgery may cure the problem. NAFLD occurs when fat deposits build up in the liver, and complications of the condition include cirrhosis, end-stage liver disease, and cancer.
