A study from Yale University suggests that weight discrimination is
more common than discrimination based on sexual orientation,
ethnicity, religion, and disability. In fact, it's as common as
racial discrimination--particularly for women. Researchers found
that most men do not begin experiencing weight discrimination until
their body mass index (BMI) reaches 35, while women reported bias
when their BMI reached 27.
