A new study has found that patients with a higher body mass index
(BMI) are 52 percent more likely to die from breast cancer than
women with a lower BMI. Researchers say BMI--which is the ratio of
weight to height--and recent pregnancy were two of the conditions
most associated with breast cancer mortality. They also found that
weight loss, along with light alcohol consumption, appeared to
increase the chance of survival.
